Free virtual arts and crafts course for families
In partnership with Southwark Adult and Family Learning, our friends at Peckham, Peckham Rye and Nunhead Children and Family Centres are hosting a free 5-week arts and crafts course on Zoom.
The classes are open to families with children aged 2 and above and will take place every Wednesday 10.00am-11.00am between 13 May – 10 June 2020. Families will need to commit to the 5-weeks and provide their own materials for each class.
The course will cover:
Week 1 (13 May) - Things with wings
Materials needed: Paper, scissors, glue, colored paper/plastic wrapping, anything you have suitable for collage (buttons, beads, etc.), strings/ribbons.
Week 2 (20 May) – 3D Junk Insect Modelling
Materials needed: Any recycled materials you have (boxes, loo rolls, egg cartons, magazines, lids, etc.), scissors, and glue or tape.
Week 3 (27 May) - Flowers from Scrap Wrappings
Materials needed: Plastic wrappings, carrier bags, newspapers/magazines, thin sticks (BBQ skewers or small twigs), scissors, glue, string/wool, and sticky tape.
Week 4 (3 June) - Nature Mobile
Materials needed: Wire coat hangers, scissors, glue, ribbons/strings, twigs, leaves, seed pods, small toy insects or pictures of insects glued onto cards cut-outs.
Week 5 (10 June) - Wild Creature Masks
Materials needed: Cardboard, scissors, glue, ribbons/strings, and any materials for collage.
