Pirates and jewels at 1st Place at Cambridge House!

pirates-edited.jpg

The children at 1st Place at Cambridge House have been showing a keen interest in pirates. They have been role-playing using big wooden blocks and creating treasure maps and eye patches in the creative area. They have also been exploring pirate boats in books and on the computer, finding ideas to further extend their role-play.

In the Studio, the children have also had a lot of fun making their own jewellery and treasure boxes, using stones, beads and twine. Some of the children continue to show interest in making robots, using the Duplo to create big and small robots. They have then used their new creations for role-play, incorporating magnetic shapes to make houses for their robots.
