Make your own cardboard teddy

Carrying on our ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ theme, follow this fun activity to make your own cardboard teddy.

What you will need:

  • A cardboard tube.

  • Paint or coloured paper.

  • Scissors.

  • Glue or sticky tape.

  • Colouring pens.

  • Other craft materials to decorate your teddy (optional)

Getting Started:

  • Paint your cardboard tube, which will become your teddy’s body. Alternatively, you can cover it in coloured paper (we used brown paper for our teddies).

  • Use a pen and a piece of paper to create your teddy’s head by drawing around a lid or small round object. (Alternatively, you can simply draw a face directly onto your teddy’s body).

  • Carefully cut out your teddy’s head.

  • Add facial features with a pen. Feel free to use any additional craft materials you may have such as googly eyes.

  • Draw around two smaller round objects to create your teddy’s ears. Carefully cut them out and attach them to your teddy’s head with glue or sticky tape.

  • Attach your teddy’s head to its body with glue or sticky tape.

  • Create oval shapes for your teddy’s paws and use a pen to decorate them.

  • Cut out your teddy’s paws and attach them to your teddy’s body with glue or sticky tape.

  • You now have a cardboard teddy - enjoy!
