Thing of the Week - Happy History

As part of the launch of 50 Things in Southwark, we are focusing on 1 of the 50 activities in this amazing app. Next is ‘Happy History’

A trip to a Museum is a great way to get out and about in the colder weather. In a museum or gallery, children experience things they wouldn’t usually come across day to day, it can be an exciting experience for toddlers and babies.

In Southwark we have a vast amount of museums and galleries our borough and neighbouring areas. These include the Golden Hinde, Clink Prison Museum, Tate Modern, Horniman Museum and the Fashion and Textile Museum.

Other Museums in London include the British History Museum, Museum of London , Natural History Museum, Science Museum and are all free!

The TFL museum is also a very exciting museum for children and has lots of interactive things to do, if you’re a London resident you only pay for your first visit and can revisit any time throughout the year for free.

Make sure you visit the Museums website before visiting as most now require you to book a time slot.

For more information on this activity including how to do it, the benefits, top tips and resources, download the free 50 Things app from Google Play or the Apple Store.
