Developing future leadership
1st Place has secured Erasmus+ funding from the European Union (EU). Erasmus+ started in January 2014 and is a programme combining all of the EU's schemes for education, training, youth and sport.Over the next two years, we will use Erasmus+ funding to develop future leadership capacity in our early education provision by visiting early education settings in other EU countries. During our closure week in May 2019, 11 members of staff will visit Bologna in Italy to attend training and to observe models of leadership in early years settings. They will also visit Reggio Emilia to visit the settings which influence 1st Place's approach to early years education. In May 2020, there will be a follow up visit to Jafalla in Sweden to continue training including experiencing approaches to early education in this region.
