Lunar New Year crafting

In celebration of the year of the Ox for Lunar New Year, our children loved creating their oxes during virtual activity sessions with the Children and Family Centre team. We would love to see your creations so don’t forget to share pictures with us on Instagram by using #weare1stplace!

What you will need:

  • An envelope or a rectangular shaped piece of paper or card.

  • Scissors.

  • Paper.

  • A pen.

  • Brown paint. If you don’t have paint, try mixing some instant coffee and a splash of washing up liquid!

Getting Started:

  • Use the envelope or rectangular shaped piece of card/paper as the ox’s head.

  • Paint it brown.

  • Create an oval shape for the ox’s nose.

  • Cut out ear shapes and attach them to side of the ox’s head.

  • Cut two ‘banana’ shapes for the ox’s horns and attach them to the on top of his head.

  • Give the ox some eyes and your ox is complete!

  • If you have used an envelope, why not slip a picture or message inside and give it to a friend or loved one

If you would like to some resources to make the ox, please contact Judy Morris by emailing judy.morris@1stplace.uk.com  or calling 07760624136. You can arrange to collect a free pack with resources from our Children’s and Family Centre.
