60 seconds with… Charley

Charley (Assistant Early Educator), talks about juggling work and study, diversity and making a difference. I am an Assistant Early Educator and a hard worker. I try to get on with everyone and make an effort. At the moment, I am studying for my Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young People’s Workforce covering the ages of 0-19. Trying to juggle full-time work and study can be challenging, but the course will hopefully open many doors for me and help me to excel in my career. I am hoping to be finished by the end of January 2019.My biggest challenge was leaving my job two years ago to pursue a career in childcare. It was something new and scary, but a chance to learn so many new things. I am glad I did it, I have never looked back.I love working with children, watching them grow and reach their milestones. I enjoy knowing that I am making a difference in the children’s lives and the fact that I am their constant every day.1st Place is a very diverse place to work. There are many opportunities for people from all different backgrounds and we offer a lot of help to the local community. In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with my friends. This job uses up a lot of energy but I try to spend at least one evening a week with my closest friends. This may be surprising to some people but when I was younger, I used to compete in swimming races all over London!
