#WeAre1stPlace celebration a roaring success

A big thank you to everybody who attended our recent #WeAre1stPlace event at our Children and Parents’ Centre on Friday 8 November. The event was a roaring success with our families and the wider community coming together to celebrate our story and to share theirs.

We unveiled a new film featuring testimonials from nursery and Children’s Centre families along with a new ‘Impact Report’ highlighting achievements from the past year. Harriet Preston (Community Food Worker) and Tiffany-Rae Miller (Early Years Dietitian) from the Community Children’s Nutrition and Dietetics service spoke about their work. There were also information stalls for the nursery, the Family Support team and our partners to increase awareness of our different services and the organisations that we work with.

Thank yous and recognition

Staff, families and other individuals and organisations who made a significant contribution over the past year were also recognised and thanked as part of a special ‘Spotlight on...’ section. Praising staff, Karen Walker (Chair), said: “These are difficult times for all early years providers and it takes a dedicated and impassioned group of people to ensure that 1st Place continues to provide a valuable and high quality service to local families and children”.

Throughout the event, guests were invited to share their thoughts and experiences about 1st Place. Comments included “Thank you for being there”, “1st Place means family support. Lovely and caring people”, “Such wonderful staff – thanks”, “We love you all! Thank you” and “What an amazing event”.
