We Are 1st Place highlights

A big thank you to the staff, families, partners and members of the local community who joined us for our annual ‘We Are 1st Place’ event on Friday 6 November. 50 people attended the virtual event, which was held on Zoom due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

‘We Are 1st Place’ provided an opportunity to take a look back at the past year and celebrate the notion of the 1st Place family. We were delighted to welcome Ahlam Laabori from Bede House, one of our partners, who talked about their services and the importance of partnership working in supporting local families. The event also saw the launch of our Impact Report 2019-2020 and our new 1st Place film.

Reflecting on the challenges of the past year, Karen Walker (Chair of the Board of Trustees), thanked staff and families: “In keeping our nursery and children’s centre provision open to vulnerable children and the children of key workers, we protected those who needed it. Such fortitude in extremely challenging times has been, and continues to be, inspiring and humbling in equal measure”.
