The theatre is coming to 1st Place as part a special collaboration with Southwark Playhouse which aims to inspire the next generation of storytellers and theatre makers.

As part of a special outreach programme, 1st Place and Southwark Playhouse are hosting a series of interactive performances and workshops for local families to get a taste of the arts while enjoying and participating in a theatrical performance.

The 45-minute interactive performances and workshops have been devised by Southwark Playhouse and Performing Arts students from the London South Bank University. The piece follows the story of a young girl who has forgotten about her toys, which then come to life and remind her of the fun they can have together.

The series is aimed at children aged 2-5 years old and their families, and involves singing, movement and play. They are being held at 1st Place’s Children and Parents’ Centre in Burgess Park.

The first performance and workshop is set to take place on Saturday 23 February at 11.00am and is open to 1st Place families (those who use its children's centre services or attend its nurseries). No booking is required, 1st Place families can simply turn up on the day.
