Prepare your child for nursery or pre-school

Is your child aged 2-3 years old? Would you like support in preparing them for nursery or pre-school? Join ‘Big Hopes Big Futures’, our free 5-week course during which we focus on key milestones and the different areas of development for your child including:

  1. Physical development ( Part 1) - Self care: Daily living skills and independence including practical ways to prepare your child for nursery/pre-school such as establishing routines, dressing independently and potty training.

  2. Physical development (Part 2): Developing your child’s ability through movement, finger strengthening and early mark making.

  3. Communication and Language: Listening and attention skills, following instructions, understanding what is being asked of them, talking and expressing themselves with others, and billingualism.

  4. Personal, Social  and Emotional development: Independence, confidence, managing feelings, sharing, and preparing your child emotionally (including parent/child expectations and separation).  

  5. Early literacy and early numbers: Book sharing, writing and numbers.

Big Hopes Big Future will take place every Wednesday between 23 June - 21 July, 10.30am - 12.00pm at 1st Place Children and Family Centre, 12 Chumleigh Street, SE5 0RN
