International Men’s Day: End Male Suicide
On November 19, International Men’s Day highlights positive role models and raises awareness of men’s well-being. Their objectives are to improve gender relations and promote gender equality, to create a safer, better world; where people grow to reach their full potential. The theme for 2023 is ‘Zero Male Suicide’.
Men and Mental Health
Men aged 40 to 49 have the highest suicide rates in the UK and are less likely to access psychological therapies than women: only 36% of referrals to NHS talking therapies are for men.
While all this can paint a gloomy picture, help and support are available if you’re worried about your own or someone else’s mental health.
