Happy Christmas from all of us at 1st Place

What an eventful year it has been. Once again, thank you for your ongoing commitment and support.

Over the past year, we have focused on raising awareness of 1st Place and bringing our services to even more local families. This includes working in partnership with the Alexandra Rose charity as part of the Rose Vouchers for Fruit & Veg project, which supports families to eat healthier. So far, we havesupported 280 families in the Faraday Ward and thanks to extra funding, thereach area has extended to North Walworth and Camberwell Green for the next 3years. With the recruitment of a new Rose Vouchers Project Co-ordinator to help develop the initiative further, we are aiming to reach 1000 families by June 2021.

As a charity, we always strive to put our children and their families at the heart of everything that we do. With this in mind, we hosted a #WeAre1stPlace event on 8 November to bring our families and the wider community together. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to celebrate the 1st Place family and for parents to share their experiences.

It was with great pride that we also hosted our stunning ‘Image of the Child’ exhibition on 30 November. This exhibition highlighted the journey of our nursery children, bringing their creative explorations to the fore. As a Reggio Emilia inspired nursery, it was an honour to recognise and encourage our children’s voices in this way.

As always, I would like to thank you for your continued support. Whether you are a nursery parent or one of our Children’s Centre families, a partner or a donor, your contribution is a key part of our success. Your involvement helps us to create unique learning experiences for our children and shape the lives of local families.

On behalf of the 1st Place team, I would like to wish you alla very happy Christmas and New Year. See you in 2020!

Best wishes,
Nicki Howard, Director.
