Help bridge the digital divide

To help bridge the digital divide in Southwark, the London South Teaching School Alliance has launched a fundraising campaign to buy computers for 2500 pupils in the borough who are homeschooling during lockdown. Southwark Council is supporting and match-funding this campaign.

Due to the closure of schools during national lockdown, children are learning from home. However, many disadvantaged pupils are still unable to access a computer.

To support this campaign, you can:

  • Donate – Your donation will help buy laptops. Some funds may also contribute towards internet connections or the refurbishment/set-up of old equipment.

  • Donate laptops – Any businesses that would like to donate laptops that can be repurposed for schools can email laptopsforlearning@southwark.gov.uk.

  • Donate your time – If you are a digital or IT company and would like to help refurbish second-hand laptops, please email laptopsforlearning@southwark.gov.uk.
