MPOX Information

Mpox, previously known as monkey pox, is a contagious virus that can cause painful skin lesions. The risk in the UK remains low, and there are currently no reported cases. However, the World Health Organisation has called for global preparation including making people aware of the symptoms.

The first symptoms of Mpox include:

A high temperature, a headache, muscle aches, backache, swollen glands, shivering (chills), exhaustion, joint pain

A rash usually appears 1 to 5 days after the first symptoms. The rash often begins on the face, then spreads to other parts of the body. Read more on the NHS website and find out what to do if you suspect you or your child has Mpox.
